Dr. Brett Birnbaum, PT, DPT

Brett is a Physical Therapist and the founder of Total Performance Physical Therapy. He grew up in New Jersey, earned his B.S in Movement Science from the University of Michigan, and his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Stony Brook University in Long Island, NY. Throughout his undergraduate and doctoral education, Brett completed internships at Annex Sports Performance and COVAL Fitness, as well as clinical rotations at Resilient Performance Physical Therapy and Rehab 2 Perform.

These experiences have provided Brett with an extensive background not only in rehabilitation, but also in strength and conditioning, sports performance, personal training, and fitness. This expertise allows Brett to help people throughout the entire rehab and performance continuum, bridging the gap between initial rehab and a full return to an active and healthy lifestyle.

Brett is passionate about helping his patients achieve their full potential. He is not satisfied with arbitrary, low-level standards of function that are becoming increasingly common. His main goal as a physical therapist is to ensure his patients never have to “settle for less,” but instead feel empowered to achieve their highest levels of performance.
